Stock market extends down trend by 0.72%

It was yet another bearish session on the floor of the Nigerian stock market on Tuesday as downtrend extended on profit taking by investors.

The All Share Index dropped by 0.72% to close at 152,629.60 points from the previous close of 153,739.11 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.63% to close at N96.971 trillion from the previous close of N97.583 trillion, thereby shedding N612 billion.

An aggregate of 684 million units of shares were traded in 33,288 deals, valued at 20.4 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 17 equities emerged as gainers against 41 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

EUNISELL led other gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N64.90 from the previous close of 59.00.

Sunu Assurance, Honeywell Flour and Livestock Feeds among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.98%, 9.72% and 7.25% respectively.

Percentage Losers

SKYAVIATION and NASCON led other price decliners as they shed 10.00% each of their share prices to close at N89.55 and N99.00 above their previous close respectively.

OANDO and UPDC among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.99% and 9.92% respectively.

Volume Drivers

ASOSAVINGS traded about 112 million units of its shares in 847 deals, valued at N115 million.

FCMB traded about 110 million units of its shares in 1,142 deals, valued at N1 billion.

Fidelity Bank traded about 55 million units of its shares in 537 deals, valued at 1 billion.
